Stacking is rhythm, not accumulation. The stacks that work share one thing: an odd number of pieces and a repeated element.
Start with two
A plain band beside one textured ring — pavé, twisted, or signet — on the same finger. Same width, same metal. This is the smallest complete stack.
Building to three and five
- Alternate texture: smooth, pavé, smooth. The eye needs a rest note between detail.
- Spread across fingers for width or concentrate on one for impact — one finger with three rings reads more deliberately than three fingers with one each.
- Vary widths within one metal tone: 1 mm, 2 mm, 4 mm. Mixing metals is possible but harder to keep composed.
Practical notes
Stacked rings in adjacent sizes slide less than identical ones — the width difference creates just enough friction to keep the set aligned. Remove stacks before applying hand cream; residue collects at the contact points fastest.
