Belle Moment began with a simple frustration: the jewellery that is affordable is usually disposable, and the jewellery that lasts is usually out of reach.
So we make a small collection, in sterling silver, with some pieces finished in 18K gold vermeil. Nothing plated over brass, nothing gold-coloured steel. The metals cost more, and the pieces cost a little more as a result — but they survive being worn, which is the only test that matters.
Why the collection is small
We would rather make twelve pieces properly than two hundred quickly. Each design is worn by us for weeks before it is listed, which is where we find out that a clasp is annoying, or that a hoop is 2 mm too heavy for a lobe.
How it is made
We work with two small workshops in Hong Kong and southern China — the same casting houses that supply far larger labels. Stones are set by hand. Every piece is checked and polished before it is boxed, and boxed by the person who answers your email.
What we are not
We are not a heritage house and we do not pretend to be. We do not use the word “luxury”. We are a young label making honest pieces at a price that reflects the metal rather than the marketing.
