Multiple piercings are an editing exercise: each hole gets one piece, and the set has to read as a single decision.
The classic ladder
Largest at the lobe, shrinking upward. A stud or small hoop in the first hole, a huggie in the second, a tiny stud or bare third. This works on every ear shape and with every outfit — it is the default for a reason.
Texture mixing
- Hoops + studs: the hoop gives movement, the stud anchors. Keep both in the same metal tone.
- Drops + huggies: the drop is the event, the huggie is the support. Never two drops in adjacent holes — they compete and tangle.
- Three hoops: vary the diameter by 2–3 mm per hole, same gauge throughout.
Face shape notes
- Round faces lengthen with vertical drops; short hoops emphasize width.
- Angular faces soften with hoops and circles.
- Long faces balance with studs and cluster shapes rather than long drops.
